Every studio
is an endpoint.

The same routes the studio uses, with your key. Clone a twin, quote a render, start a take, poll the job, pull the file. A sandbox host returns realistic dummy jobs so you can build before you spend a credit.

Quote. Start. Poll. Pull.

Every studio follows the same four calls. The quote is the price you will pay; the job carries the file when it lands.

01Quote itGET /api/credits/quote?feature=…

Returns the credits a render will cost for these settings. Studio-specific quotes exist too: /api/cinema/quote, /api/sound/quote, /api/marketing/quote.

02Start itPOST /api/talk · /api/cinema · /api/scene …

Returns 202 with a jobId and the balance after reservation. Uploads go through POST /api/assets/presign first.

03Poll itGET /api/jobs/:id

status: queued → running → succeeded | failed, with a customer-safe step string. Failed jobs refund automatically.

04Pull itvideoUrl · imageUrl · audioUrl

Signed URLs on the job; GET /api/library lists everything you have made. Files are yours to keep.

Point the same code at sandbox.motionbar.ai with a mb_test_ key. Every route answers with the real shape and realistic dummy data: quotes return numbers, jobs queue then succeed after a few seconds, files resolve to sample media. No credits move.

Same routes, same shapesEvery path in the map exists on the sandbox host. Types match production so your client compiles once.
Jobs behave like jobsA sandbox job sits in queued for ~3 s, running for ~5 s, then succeeds with sample media — so polling and webhooks are exercised for real.
Consent still gates cloningPOST /api/clone on the sandbox requires a consentClipId too. The gate is part of the contract, not a production add-on.
Balance never movesQuotes return real numbers; reservations and refunds are logged but the sandbox balance stays at 999,999.

How the API behaves

Auth

Authorization: Bearer mb_live_… or mb_test_…. Keys are created and rotated at developer.motionbar.ai; one key per environment.

Crédits

The quote is the price. A 202 reserves the credits; a failed job refunds them; nothing else is charged.

Rate limits

Per-key limits are shown in the portal with live usage. 429 carries Retry-After.

Consent

Cloning needs a recorded consent clip, by API exactly as in the studio. There is no bypass for keys.
