ABOUT

We got tired of booking studios.

Motionbar started because a two-minute product video cost three thousand dollars and eleven days. The footage was fine. The process was the problem.

The first version was a weekend hack: three photos, a voice sample, and a rig that made one of us read a script we had never said out loud. It was rough. It was also faster than any shoot any of us had ever run.

Two years on, the idea has not changed. Clone the person once, properly, with consent on the record. Then make every video after that a text field and a wait of about fifty seconds.

We are a small team in San Francisco with a render fleet that is considerably larger than the team. We do not sell your likeness, we do not train shared models on it, and we do not ask you to get on a call before you can see the product.

Three things we argue about and always land the same way.

Consent is a gate, not a checkbox

You cannot clone a face without a recorded verification from that face. It slows signup down. We keep it anyway.

The ledger is honest

Every render shows its cost before it runs. Failures refund themselves. Nobody should need a spreadsheet to predict a bill.

Speed is a feature of the craft

A fifty-second render changes what you are willing to try. Most good videos are the fourth idea, not the first.
